MELBOURNE eye specialist and surgeon Farokh Irani has made the tree-change, uprooting his life to enjoy the Bendigo lifestyle and sense of community.
“It’s a good place for my wife and I, to raise our two young kids. Bendigo has great schools and it’s a great city,” he said.
The US-born, Australiantrained Dr Irani has been practising for 18 years and has worked part-time in Bendigo for the past decade.
“There is a growing need in Bendigo for aged and degenerative services. Most people we see are elderly or middle-aged,” he said. Eye Surgeons Bendigo, Chum Street, specialises in glaucoma, retinal disease and macula degeneration.
“It’s a new modern practice with all the facilities and an experienced practitioner,” Dr Irani said.
Dr Irani worked in the USA, UK and Israel alongside the world’s most prestigious surgeons.
ESB provides, Bendigo and surrounds, a local alternative to the medical facilities and services available in Melbourne.
“The perception in vision cities is that patients have to visit large cities to get treatment and that’s not the case,” he said.
“I have tons of experience from the capital cities and all of our equipment is good as, if not better."
